The Walking Dead voiceover star Randy Schell passed away following a sky-diving accident

A voiceover actor for various television shows, including Fear the Walking Dead, has died in a skydiving tragedy. Randy Schell’s cause of death was “a midair collision during a jump at a Southeast Texas skydiving center,” according to USA Today.
The newspaper reported that the tragedy occurred in Houston, Texas at Skydive Spaceland. “Two seasoned skydivers deployed parachutes normally during a planned group jump on Saturday, but that they later collided and fell to the ground, killing one and injuring the other,” reported USA Today. Schell was the skydiver who died.

According to KHOU, “Both skydivers were licensed, experienced jumpers and had each made at least one successful skydive earlier in the day on Saturday…the jumpers collided after deploying their parachutes normally but the collision caused Shell’s parachute to collapse.”

Schell’s Facebook page says he was married, lived in Houston, and worked for Randy Schell Productions.

According to CinemaBlend, Randy Schell “has been putting his signature vocal talents to work for over 25 years now, and it’s hard to imagine anyone out there not being familiar with his deep and textured voice.”
The site reports that “his most famous regular gig had been with AMC, taking on TV spots and ad bumpers for shows such as The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead, Preacher and more over the years. As well, Schell has recorded commercials and more for some of the biggest corporations on the planet, including Coca Cola, Nike, Geico, Levi’s, McDonald’s, 20th Century Fox and more.”

“Over the years Randy Schell has voiced hundreds of commercials, promos, and industrial projects for some of the biggest names in business,” Schell’s website says. “He was the voice of courtroom reality TV shows Judge Alex and Texas Justice for Twentieth Century Television, has been the promo voice for seven of the Fox Sports regional networks, and has appeared on ABC TV´s Modern Family.”
Schell’s website bio describes how he got his start.

“Ever since 10 year old Randy Schell “borrowed” the tape recorder his dad used to dictate engineering reports, he started learning about audio – and in the process, things he could do with his voice. By the age of 14 he´d convinced the local radio station to let him hang around to “help” and learn. And while most kids his age were still working a paper route, Randy was in demand voicing commercials and promos. Since then, he´s tackled just about every kind of audio project imaginable,” it reads.
