The six year old captured the hearts of the nation after he became
the mascot for Sunderland and genuine best friends with England player
Jermain Defoe.
Jermain paid an emotional tribute to the youngster on Saturday, as his family began to make plans for his funeral. They have asked mourners to wear colourful football tops to celebrate Bradley’s life as they pay their respects.
His family shared a post on Facebook announcing his funeral will be held on Friday July 14 at St. Joesphs R.c Church in Blackhall colliery.
The post read: "This is open to everyone who would like to come and celebrate Bradley's life and pay their respects to show him how much he was loved.
"They will then be having invite only private ceremony at a crematorium.
"The family have requested for no media to be there unless they are not working and attending to pay their respects.
"You can wear what ever you want for the funeral but the family and friends have chosen the theme cancer has no colours. So they are wearing football tops it doesn't matter what team or colour.
"Due to Bradley's popularity they would like family flowers only and if you would like to make a donation this can be made to the Bradley Lowery foundation."
It comes after Jermain Defoe shared a touching tribute to Bradley, saying that he had been "inspired" by his bravery over the years.
