Prince Harry was back in his official military uniform on Thursday to honour the country’s war heroes

Meghan Markle's boyfriend appeared at Westminster Abbey’s Field of Remembrance in memory of those who have sacrificed their life since the beginning of the First World War.
Wearing his dapper Number Ones army uniform, Prince Harry, met with veterans from past and present conflicts. Harry served in the Army for ten years and was twice deployed to Afghanistan.
At the Field Of Remembrance on Thursday 9 November, Prince William's brother laid a Cross of Remembrance in tribute to those who gave their lives to war.
Around 70,000 small crosses are laid in 380 plots around Central London. The crosses represent military regiments and organisations, as well as other groups.
Every November, the Royal British Legion constructs a Field of Remembrance in the grounds of Westminster Abbey, where Prince Harry paid tribute today.

After laying a wooden cross amongst an arrangement of poppies, Prince Harry saluted.
He later happily chatted with veterans and fellow passers by. The Remembrance tradition is in its 89th year.

Poppies are a symbol of remembering not just those who gave their lives in World War One, but everyone who has died on behalf of their country.

They are the flower which grew on the battlefields after World War One ended.
