Pregnant Chrissy Teigen Walks the Red Carpet with Husband John Legend

Chrissy Teigen is back on her "impeccable maternity style" game. On Wednesday night, mere hours before her 32nd birthday, the model and cookbook author glammed up her baby bump for its red carpet debut at Smithsonian magazine's 2017 American Ingenuity Awards in Washington, D.C., where husband John Legend was honored for his work advocating for criminal justice reform, among other issues.

Just over a week after revealing that she and Legend, already parents to 19-month-old Luna, are expecting their second child, Teigen was positively glowing on the red carpet in a long-sleeved, floor-length gown, featuring a waist-cinching black tie that showed off her growing bump.

She accessorized with several statement rings and a small gold and black clutch purse, while styling her hair in a tight topknot, leaving her freshly cut face-framing bangs down. Legend looked dapper in a classic black tuxedo that coordinated perfectly with his wife's autumn-toned gown.

Legend, 38, opened up in August about their past struggles to get pregnant as well as their experience with IVF. “I think it’s especially difficult when you can’t conceive naturally,” he told Cosmopolitan. “You want to feel like everything’s working properly and want everything to be perfect, but sometimes it’s not. I wouldn’t say we can’t conceive naturally, but I would say that it’s enough of a challenge where it felt like we needed help.”

“We’re lucky that we’re living in an age where we can conceive in other ways,” he continued. “[IVF] brought us Luna and hopefully it will bring us a few more awesome kids, too.”
