Simone Garcia Johnson, the daughter of Dwayne Johnson and Dany
Garcia, has been named the 2018 Golden Globe Ambassador, a position
previously known as Miss/Mr. Golden Globe, the Hollywood Foreign Press
Association announced Wednesday.
“I’ve been lucky enough to grow up in a household with strong role models and feel so honored to represent the HFPA for its 75th Anniversary,” said Garcia Johnson in a statement. “As the newly minted Golden Globe Ambassador, I hope to serve as a role model to young people everywhere and empower them to speak out on issues they are passionate about.”
In her role, Garcia Johnson will assist during the upcoming 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards, which will air Jan. 7 on NBC. The honor is traditionally bestowed upon the son or daughter of a high-profile member of Hollywood, with Rumer Willis, Dakota Johnson, and Freddie Prinze Jr. among those to have previously served in the position.
