Bitter rivals are best friends once again as Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn expressed their admiration for each other Tuesday on Smackdown Live following the events of Hell in a Cell.
Appearing battered from his Hell in a Cell match against Smackdown commissioner Shane McMahon, Owens came out to the ring to introduce Zayn whom he was now referring to as his guardian angel.
Zayn, all smiles, then proceeded to explain why he saved Owens from McMahon on Sunday as the commissioner dived towards him with a high-flying elbow from the top of the Hell in a Cell structure.
According to Zayn, he felt mistreated on Smackdown and ignored by McMahon after he was lured over to the blue brand from Raw months ago and he always sat waiting patiently for his opportunity to shine while he noticed his contemporary Owens win championship after championship while he spit in the face of authority and rules.
Zayn then declared that McMahon did not care about anyone but himself and that is why he saved Owens from the elbow drop. After referring to themselves as brothers, the pair then shared an emotional hug in the middle of the ring before continuously raising each other's hands up in celebration.
With Zayn back on his side and McMahon momentarily out of commission, Owens feels he now controls Smackdown Live.
