Rihanna Covers "Vogue Arabia" as Queen Nefertiti

Looking regal af in an Ancient Egyptian themed spread shot by Greg Kadel, RiRi is channelling Queen Nefertiti for the photoshoot with her iconic turquoise headpiece.
The traditional headwear has been styled for the publication with glamorous metallic dresses, richly coloured coats, a killer Gucci snakeskin jacket and a stunning smokey blue eye makeup look.

RiRi announced the exciting collaboration with an Instagram post on Thursday evening, announcing its release on November 1st with two queen emojis and a crown.

Speaking about the stunning images, Vogue Arabia editor Manuel Arnaut explained the concept a little further by saying: ‘We are dedicating the issue to strong and dynamic women who are changing the world.’
He continued: ‘Rihanna, our cover star, is one of them. Not only is she one of the most successful pop icons ever, shaping the entertainment industry with her powerful tunes and unique sense of style, she is also an advocate for diversity.

‘With a crown designed by Faeth Millinery, Rihanna pays homage to this unforgettable queen, who still reigns as one of Ancient Egypt’s most celebrated figures.’

There’s no doubt that Rihanna herself will have been excited about the concept, as she actually has a bust of the ancient Egyptian Queen Nefertiti tattooed on her left side.

With a passion for Egyptian symbolism, she also famously has a large inking of Goddess Isis spread across her ribs and an Egyptian falcon on her right foot.
