Important things You Need To Know Before Buying Your Domain Name

What exactly is a domain backorder? How does the backorder process work?
Domain backorder is a service made available by ICANN-approved companies and it's the most effective way to get a good domain that was owned by a third party and was left to expire. When the registration period of a site has ended, the latter becomes inactive, but is not removed immediately. Instead, its owner has 2 months to renew it. If this does not happen, the domain enters a deletion period that lasts about five days and then it is deleted, so everyone could register it. The backorder service allows you to make an order for such a domain name with a registrar company and they will try to register it immediately once it is on the market. This way, you'll be able to get a brief and attractive domain name for your site and although these domains are registered on a first -come, first-serve basis and there is no guarantee that you will obtain the wanted domain name, using an automated system provides you with a better chance than if you keep checking whether the domain is erased and try to get it personally. Read more

Hosted Domains
The hosted domains feature of a web hosting account refers to the amount of registered domains that you can add in the same account. Registering a domain name and hosting it are two totally different services although some people consider them to be the exact same thing. While the registration ensures that you become the owner of a certain domain address, the hosting part is what in fact allows you to have a website since this is where your files and emails are going to be. Because these are 2 different services, it is possible to register a new domain address with one company and host it with another by changing its name servers (DNS) - the domain will work in the exact same way as if it was registered and hosted with the exact same company. It is also extremely important to know that changing the hosting means pointing the domain name to a different company and not transferring it.

DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM)
DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) is an email authentication system used to confirm that an e-mail has been sent by an authenticated person or server. An e-signature is attached to the header of the email message using a private encryption key. When the email is received, a public key that is available in the global DNS database is used to verify who actually sent it and whether its content has been edited in any way. The fundamental purpose of DKIM is to avert the widely spread scam and spam email messages, as it makes it impossible to fake an email address. If a message is sent from an address claiming to belong to your bank, for instance, but the signature does not match, you will either not receive the message at all, or you’ll receive it with a warning that most probably it is not a legitimate one. It depends on email providers what exactly will happen with an email message which fails to pass the signature test. DomainKeys Identified Mail will also supply you with an extra layer of protection when you communicate with your business allies, for instance, since they can see for themselves that all the email messages that you send are genuine and haven’t been meddled with in the meantime.  Read more

Feature-rich Domain Manager
Being able to easily administer your domains is rather important and can boost your user experience as a web hosting customer. The platforms that many web hosting companies use are not very simple to use, so you can often find yourself in a situation where you have to log in and out of different Control Panel tools to complete a certain task, even if you’ve got one domain name. Not only is this inconvenient, but it also takes more time and effort compared to having an all-encompassing system where you can access everything you require without logging in and out all the time. For instance, registering a brand-new domain, hosting it and uploading the web files pertaining to it involves the use of at least 2 separate admin interfaces, especially if you are using the most popular web hosting platforms out there.

At its simplest, this means that if the Registry Operator (or its employees, etc.) for the registered name is sued because of the Registered Name Holder’s domain name registration, the Registered Name Holder will pay the Registry Operator for all fees and expenses in defending against the suit as well as pay for any judgments or liabilities awarded.
