The rivalry between WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar and
Samoa Joe continued to heat up Monday on Raw as The Destroyer finally
got the champion right where he wanted him.
After being introduced by his advocate Paul Heyman, Lesnar entered the Staples Center in Los Angeles where he was immediately attacked from behind by Joe who was able to administer his fabled Coquina Clutch submission maneuver on The Beast.
Not one to go down easy, Lesnar struggled with Joe to break free from the Coquina Clutch that has put many Superstars to sleep. Slamming Joe into the stage screen multiple times was not enough, however, as Lesnar began to fade with his face turning red.
Before Joe could truly finish, a number of officials and Superstars broke up the fight. As Lesnar gasped for air, it became clear that Joe is not someone to take lightly. The competitors will be meeting for the Universal Championship July 9 at Great Balls of Fire.
