The Cleveland MC is now in recovery after a health scare
that caused him to collapse backstage at a concert on his b-day on
Saturday (Apr. 22). While performing at South Florida’s Seminole Casino, Machine
Gun Kelly clutched his chest and showed signs of pain. He then walked
off the stage right in the middle of his “Bad Things” performance.
Paramedics assessed the rapper backstage to make sure that it wasn’t a heart-related problem. According to TMZ, the rapper-turned-actor had been injured the day before while filming Captive State, likely contributing to this issue.
Despite his health complications, Kellz finished the show. When he returned to the stage, he told the crowd he felt like he was “dying,” and accepted a joint from a fan.
After the report was publicized, MGK clarified the situation further on Instagram. “For those who saw the TMZ post, here is what happened last night,” he wrote. “i took some serious damage to my chest plate/ribs this week and during our 6th song last night I collapsed backstage and thought i was having a heart attack. what they didn’t report, was that i went back out and finished that show cuz we’re fuckin champions and it was my 27th birthday and nothing can take me away from the stage.”
He also shared a video of the backstage chaos. In the clip, someone asks him whether the show is more important than his health. “This [is more important],” he says. “Tell them to keep the show going.”

Kelly’s rumored girlfriend Halsey was by his side during the scare, and she also joined him for a birthday celebration at Scarlett’s Cabaret, a strip club in Florida. It seemed to be a wild birthday celebration. Aside from hitting the strip club with Halsey, he also juggled bottles of alcohol, and blew fire into the air.
