As the 23-year-old singer recalled in an interview with Rollacoaster, Trump, 70, once booted One Direction from Trump International Hotel and Tower. “Trump actually kicked us out of his hotel once,” he shared, via NME.com , of the short-lived stay at the Manhattan property.
“You
wouldn’t believe it. It was about [meeting] his daughter. He phoned up
our manager and we were asleep. He said, ‘Well, wake them up’ and I was
like ‘No’ and then he wouldn’t let us use the underground garage.
Obviously in New York we can’t really go outside. New York is ruthless
for us.”
Though it’s unclear when the events took place, Payne claimed Trump wanted the British pop stars off the premises. “So he was like, ‘OK, then I don’t want you in my hotel.’ So we had to leave,” Payne said.
Payne, on the other hand is focused on the impending birth of his child.
He and girlfriend Cheryl Cole are set to welcome their first child together any day now.
