The WWE has officially parted ways with former Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger

"WWE has come to terms on the release of Jack Swagger. WWE wishes Swagger the best in all his future endeavors," the company said in a statement Monday. The news comes after Swagger publicly asked for his release recently on Chael Sonnen's Beyond the Fight podcast.

An 11-year veteran, Swagger signed with WWE in 2006 and debuted on the company's ECW program two year later. Swagger famously won the Money in the Bank contract in 2010 which he successfully used to capture Chris Jericho's World Heavyweight Championship. The 34-year-old has also held the ECW Championship and the United States Championship.
In 2013, Swagger teamed up with manager Zeb Colter and became a self-proclaimed "real American" as he went on to unsuccessfully challenge Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 29.

Swagger was last seen on WWE programming in October when he was involved in a short feud with Baron Corbin after switching from Raw to Smackdown.
