A new report claims Melania Trump is unhappy as first lady and that she doesn’t sleep in the same bedroom as her husband, Donald Trump. Not only does the former model currently live 200 miles away from the
president in NYC, but when she’s with the 70-year-old, sources say she
refuses to share a bed with him.
Melania does not keep hidden from everyone around her how miserable she is,” a family source tells Us Weekly.
“[She] wants as little to do with Donald as possible. She is not
interested in Donald, the presidency or anything involving him.”
The Slovenian-born beauty married the businessman in January 2005, and seemed to enjoy her life in the couple’s Fifth Avenue triplex penthouse. All of that changed when Donald decided to run for office.
Unlike first ladies before her, the 46-year-old has participated in a limited number of official engagements and didn’t even return to Washington D.C. until 21 days after the inauguration. Twitter was also quick to point out on Jan. 20 that Donald failed to escort Melania up the steps of the White House to greet outgoing president Barack Obama and wife Michelle, which many cited as proof of palpable tension between the pair.
Family friend and stylist Phillip Bloch previously told Us Weekly that the mother-of-one is struggling to cope with her new role. "This life wasn’t her dream. It was Donald’s,” he said in February. A source added, "Don’t let her smile in those photos fool you. She hates this.”
Melania’s rep has since denied claims that there’s discord between her and the president, saying, “It’s unfortunate that you are going to feature unnamed 'sources' that have provided fictional accounts.”
