A new WWE Champion was crowned Sunday during Smackdown Live's exclusive pay-per-view event, Elimination Chamber. The main event featured John Cena
defending his newly won WWE Championship in an Elimination Chamber
match against a collection of Smackdown's best including Bray Wyatt, The
Miz, Baron Corbin, Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose and former
champ AJ Styles who had lost the belt to Cena at the Royal Rumble.
Styles and Cena started off the bout and re-ignited their feud inside the steel structure as the other Superstars awaited their turn to enter the match.
The first elimination took place after everyone had entered the match except for The Miz, who stayed behind nervously, unwilling to get into the ring with a dominating Corbin who was staring down the self-proclaimed Hollywood A-lister.
Distracted by The Miz, Ambrose then rolled up Corbin for a surprise three count which sent The Lone Wolf into a destructive rage. Corbin then brutally tossed The Lunatic Fringe around the chamber and planted him into the mat with End of Days.
Knocked out, The Miz then came in slyly to pin Ambrose for the three count. The Miz didn't last much longer as Cena took him out with a timely Attitude Adjustment.
Down to three, Wyatt and Styles teamed up together to take on Cena before going back to battling each other. Cena's historic 16th reign as World Champion came to a close after Bray Wyatt laid him out with Sister Abigail, guaranteeing that a new champion would be crowned.
The Phenomenal One then went all out on Wyatt, utilizing his signature aerial moves in order to defeat The Eater of Worlds but it was not enough. After Wyatt caught Styles leaping from the air, he delivered Sister Abigail to become the new WWE Champion.
As Wyatt celebrated in the ring, Wyatt Family member Randy Orton confronted his leader from the ramp knowing that the two will now meet at WrestleMania for the title. "Your BRAND NEW #WWEChampion @WWEBrayWyatt is looking ahead to #WrestleMania 33... but so is #TheViper, @RandyOrton!" WWE wrote on Twitter alongside a video of the moment.
