'Twister' and 'Titanic' star Bill Paxton dead at 61 from ‘surgery complications'

But now it has been reported that the star has tragically passed away as result of complications from surgery. 
The 61 year old died on February 25, stated his family in a statement released today. "It is with heavy hearts we share the news that Bill Paxton has passed away due to complications from surgery," the statement read.

"A loving husband and father, Bill began his career in Hollywood working on films in the art department and went on to have an illustrious career spanning four decades as a beloved and prolific actor and filmmaker.

"Bill’s passion for the arts was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth and tireless energy were undeniable."
Bill was starring in CBS series Training Day at the time of his death.
The star enjoyed an successful career as an actor, starring in blockbuster hits such as Titanic, Twister, Aliens and Apollo 13.
While in more recent years, he had received critical acclaim for his television performances.

Most notably, Bill had taken a lead role in HBO series Big Love, receiving three Golden Globe nominations for his portrayal of Bill Henrickson.
He was also nominated for an Emmy Award after starring in Hatfields & McCoys alongside Kevin Costner.

Bill also directed a number of short films including Fish Heads, Frailty and The Greatest Game Ever Played.
And since news of his death was published today, tributes for the actor have flooded in from friends, family and fans online.

TMZ, which also confirmed the actor's death, said he has been married to Louise Newbury for 30 years and has two children.
