Maddox Jolie-Pitt is credited on her latest film for Netflix as an executive producer and it's not just an honorary title. According to Angelina,
her eldest played an integral role in getting First They Killed My
Father off the ground as it is a subject close to his heart.
The Cambodian-born 15-year-old and his Oscar-winning mother worked together with Loung Ung for the film adaption of the activist's memoir detailing his fight for survival under the communist Khmer Rouge regime.
Two million people were slaughtered between 1975 and 1979 under Khmer Rouge's rule.
“He was the one who just called it and said he was ready and that he wanted to work on it, which he did," Jolie told the Guardian.
"He read the script, helped with notes, and was in the production meetings."
As Maddox makes his first steps into the world of film, Angelina is reaffirming her place as a top Hollywood star.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actress will appear in The Spy Who Loved and a Catherine the Great project, direct an adaptation of Alessandro Baricco’s 2004 novel Without Blood and produce The One and Only Ivan for Disney.
